Most baby brands show you a row of logos.
We'd rather give you the licence numbers, tell you exactly what each one covers, point you at the government portal where you can check us yourself — and be straight about what we haven't done yet.

You don't have to take our word for it
Every BIS licence in India is publicly verifiable, free, by anyone, in under a minute. Ours included.

You'll see the manufacturer's name, the standard we're certified against, the product scope it covers, and whether the licence is active, expired or cancelled. That comes from the Bureau of Indian Standards, not from us.
If what you see there doesn't match what's on this page, we've made a mistake. Tell us at care@chicbuddy.in and we'll correct it the same day.

This is mandatory in India for products intended for children under three, under the Toys Quality Control Order. Certification means samples were tested for mechanical safety (small parts and choking risk), chemical safety (heavy metals, phthalates, BPA) and physical durability including bite force.
What it does not cover: it certifies the product against a safety standard. It is not a quality rating, and it says nothing about how the product performs or how long it lasts.

Every cosmetic sold in India must be made in a facility licensed under the Cosmetics Rules 2020. The facility is inspected against Schedule VII Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, and is re-inspected at least once every three years.
What it does not cover: it licenses the facility, not the individual formulation. It confirms our products are made somewhere legally permitted to make them and inspected for it. It is not an endorsement of any recipe.
Material testing — food-grade silicone

A wording note, because it matters: we say made from LFGB-tested food-grade silicone. We do not say FDA approved — the FDA does not approve baby products, and any brand telling you otherwise is either careless or counting on you not knowing. This is a material test report, not a company certification.
What we haven't done yet
This is the section most brands leave out. We'd rather you saw it.
- We are not certified organic. [Reason — e.g. our formulations use ingredients that would not qualify, and we'd rather say so than pursue a claim that would require reformulating away from what works.]
- We do not yet hold OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I for our fabric range. [Testing is booked for MONTH YEAR / this is on our roadmap for YEAR.]
- We have not conducted paediatric clinical trials. Very few baby-care brands at any price have. If a brand implies otherwise, ask for the study.

Our rule: if a certificate lapses, it comes off this page the day it lapses — not the day somebody notices. If we make a claim here we can't document, tell us and we'll remove it.
What "free from" actually means here
Absence claims are the easiest thing in personal care to say and the hardest for you to check. A product can be paraben-free and still be a poor formulation.
So here is exactly what we mean:

Our balance rule: for every three things we say a product is free from, we publish one thing it contains — a named ingredient, a licence number, or a test report. Absence claims are marketing. Presence claims are evidence.

Who makes our products

We say this plainly because a lot of brands imply an in-house factory they don't have. What matters isn't who owns the building — it's whether it's licensed, inspected and named. Ours is, and here it is.
If something is wrong
If a product arrives damaged, smells wrong, looks different from usual, or causes any reaction:
- Stop using it.
- Photograph the product and the batch number on the pack.
- Email support@chicbuddy.com or WhatsApp +91 9795745678 with the photos and your order number.
We will respond within one working day, replace or refund without requiring the product back, and — if it looks like a batch problem rather than a one-off — check the rest of that batch and contact everyone who bought it.
Our batch records are kept for [X years].
Questions
- Is BIS certification legally required?
- For toys and teethers intended for children under three, yes — under the Toys Quality Control Order. For cosmetics, the requirement is a CDSCO manufacturing licence for the facility instead. Different products, different rules.
- Why do you show your manufacturer's licence rather than your own?
- Because that's the truth. We don't own a factory. The licence that matters is the one held by the facility where your product is actually made, and we'd rather name it than let you assume.
- Are your products safe for a newborn?
- Every product shows the age it's suitable from, on the product page and on the pack. Where it says safe from birth, that's what we mean. Where it doesn't, please don't.
- My baby reacted to a product. What now?
- Stop using it and see the section above. Please tell us even if you don't want a refund — reaction reports are how we find formulation problems, and we can't find them if nobody says anything.
- How often is this page updated?
- Whenever anything changes, and reviewed every [quarter] regardless. The date at the top is real.
